How to use the concrete calculator

Need to know how much concrete your structure requires? Use our handy concrete calculator below to compute the volume you will need for a range of structures, including square slabs, footings, round slabs, columns, stairs and fence post holes. Simply input the appropriate figures of your intended construction, along with the suitable units, and then click ‘calculate’ to view the final volume figure.

Note: Every concrete pour is different, and sometimes laying the mix on perfectly flat ground isn’t possible. To ensure you don’t run out, we recommend ordering based on the maximum measurement - remember, you will only pay for what you use.

Square Slab & Footings

Calculate the concrete volume needed by measuring:

Length: The length of the longest edge of the intended slab

Width: The length of the shortest edge of the intended slab

Depth: The depth that your slab will be

Round Slabs & Columns

Calculate the concrete volume needed by measuring:

Diameter: The total diameter across the widest point of where your column or slab will be

Height: The height of your intended round slab or column

Stairs

Calculate the concrete volume needed by measuring:

Platform Depth: Length of the shortest edge of the top step, which is often larger than the other steps

Rise Height: Height of an individual step

Run Depth: Length of the shortest edge of an individual stair

Width: Length of the longest edge of an individual stair

Number of Steps: Total number of steps, including the platform stair at the top

Fence Post Holes

Calculate the concrete volume needed by measuring:

Radius: First, measure the diameter across the widest point of your intended fence post hole, and then halve the figure to calculate the radius

Height: The height of your intended fence post
